Heating Mantle
I'm unsure if a 1L heating mantle or 500mL heating mantle would be better. Which one would you recommend ?

1L will serve for 1l and 500ml, and with caution 250ml.
Best will be the one that fits the flask you'll be using the most!

In most cases you can do 500ml flask job in 1000ml flask, but you can't do 1000ml job in 500ml. I'd go with 1000ml!
