beebo was looking for some confirmation before proceeding

up in our head we remember it like this:

HCL tit ration or gassing of an aqueous solution of potassium phosphate will precipitate a crashing out of K leaving H3PO3 and water to remove

is that correct and water to remove

Why would one think acidifying a PHOSPHATE solution would produce PHOSPHOROUS acid?

If you have read about that reaction somewhere, it would be a good idea to find the article again. I presume you think potassium chloride would precipitate from the solution (not "crash out"; this is chemistry, not bumper cars).
What you think you remember does not sound plausible to me (disclaimer: I have been known to be wrong before). Can you write a balanced chemical equation for the reaction you propose?
