Free Chemicals, Walsall, UK
My re-location plans are going quicker than expected so in less than three month's time I will dispose of many of my chemicals,
- unless someone wants to collect them from my lab.
I will be shipping glassware, equipment and a few inert/safe chemicals but the bulk of my chemicals are unsuitable for international shipping so must
go.
Anyone interested ?
(if not an adult then you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who will be briefed by me)
Please do not contact me if you only want a few chemicals or can't collect.

@Sulaiman please report back after you successfully ship the chemicals & equipment back to Malaysia. The info maybe useful to me as I'm planning
to buy chemicals in Canada and transport them back to my home country.

@fusso : I doubt that my experience will be of much value to you as I am sending my chemistry stuff along with all of my household stuff in a
container.
The last time that I did this my seals were intact = contents not inspected.

Today one of our members took ALL of the chemicals (mostly liquids) that I do not want to ship ... HOORAY !
Thanks to all that responded and sorry if you were beaten at the post.
So, this thread is now dead, and can be moved to Detritus to save data space.

Sending to detritus won't save disk/server space. But completely deleting it will.

Sitting in my 'lab' this morning it dawned on me ...
there is not much chemistry that I can do without my liquids...
So I'm going to start packing away my glassware now, then my dry chemicals.
The last things on my list before migrating;
. dispose of c20 litres old kerosene that I never did get to distill,
(50:50 safety:cowardice)
. melt some collected aluminium cans into an ingot,
or pour when molten into water for aluminium shot/flakes, or similar,
(and possibly a quick go at an antenna levitated by a 36" balloon of H2)
or just put them all out for recycling.
. do something with c50ml of carbon disulphide with iodine, redP, and some ammount(s) of PI3 (and possibly P2I4)
Sorry ... although I'm unable to do any chemistry for a while - I can still read and type
P.S. whilst sorting out 'un-transportable' chemicals I added solids that can release undesirable gasses,
but I will re-evaluate what I consider to be safe for surface shipping as I pack
... not quite as simple as I'd originally imagined. (solids vs. liquids)
Even if you consider it highly unlikely that you will re-locate,
consider those that you may leave behind (for whatever reason) with your stuff
(typically new occupants, or family)
How would others dispose of any chemistry stuff that you leave behind ?
... just a thought for us to consider ... shit happens.
EDIT: e.g. labels also indicate safe disposal methods: trash/sewer/other,
- to most people chemical symbols mean little as
they are all CHEMICALS therefore DANGEROUS

Yeah, that's why it's really important to have all of your chemicals properly labelled, stored, and inventoried.

Well, I would suggest leaving instructions to ask on here - either to give stuff away to a good home, or for advice on disposal.
