I have tried without success. What I was interested in could not be shipped to the US I was told. I guess if you cannot find what you want from them on amazon or ebay you cannot get it by direct order. ChemSavers are good at getting hard to find things but shipping charges can break the bank if they do not stock it. Does Elemental still do special orders?

Yeah, there were a few interesting items I included in an order, but after several emails trying to get status updates I was finally told they wont ship to me. They have poor customer service. One of the items I ordered they say has been discontinued, which I call BS because they just put it in the site. I have been watching the site for a while.

And yes, it does seem you can only get their products from Amazon.

I should gave known something was up when you cant create N account on their site because of a CAPTCHA misconfiguration...

It's a shame...

I easily created an account with HiMedia in Nov 2018 and made an order. After having my order "in progress" for about a month I called. I spoke with a very nice person who explained why my order could not be completed, then cancelled my order after which I had a refund posted the next day. It would have been nice to have had an earlier resolution but I had assumed, correctly, that the order was coming from India so the time lag was reasonable. It just turned out that the chemical could not be shipped to the US, why I never found out. That's life.

It sounds like calling them is the better form of communicating with them.

The turn around for email in my experience has been weeks.

I wonder if you can order certain approved items from their online store that they also sell on Amazon? Or do they just blanket ban all residential sales on their website... but for some reason still sell to residential addresses on Amazon?

I think Amazon is selling them on their behalf. I wonder if they know they are being sent to residential addresses. I see it like this. HiMedia created listings with Amazon, and sent a bunch of them to an Amazon warehouse for prime shipping. Amazon sells them without consideration of shipping address, so we are able to buy them. When Amazon runs out, they request more from HiMedia, and hence the wait time. Amazon receives the new shipment, and then sends you the order.

HiMedia likely doesnt know, or they turn a blind eye to it.
