Confusion on the strength of graphene and graphite


Two questions:

Does the tensile strength of a graphene sheet change depending on which way you apply it? If so, in which directions is it weaker?

And is the tensile strength of n layer graphite n times stronger than graphene along the plane? Suprisingly i fail to find a convincing answer to this question. In the link below it is mentioned that graphite is weaker to nanoindentation:

However i do not believe that result applies along the plane. For example: perhaps a single sheet breaks and the one above is simply pulled through the hole, folded like paper sliding past the broken sheet. I think some of these results are dependent on intersheet bonding too. Is this present in all graphite?
