What journal is this?

I am trying to track down this reference:

J. H. Yoe; Va. J. Sci.; v3; p8-10; 1942

but what does the Va. stand for?

Virginia Journal of science?

There is such a thing, but I don't know where to get access just offhand.

(Virginia used to be Va before the abbreviation was officially changed to VA.)

No worries - what is the paper, as a matter of interest?

I don't have a title but it is referenced as containing the preparation of various substituted arylalacetones including some asymmetric ones such as cinnamyl-anisylacetone and their oximes and their us as reagents for tungsten. I have found references to this paper from no less than 3 separate sources so I am now very curious to see it.

Ah, cool - thanks. I had an idea it might well be metal-related, seeing the titles of some of J.H. Yoe's papers.

It seems all those papers, at least all the ones pre-1950, only exist in actual dusty boxes at the university archive.

If you do find it OK, maybe scan and upload it to the SM Library, if that's permitted. :)
