I don't see why not, reagents is kind of just a more professional word for chemicals.

In fact I don't like using the word chemicals and prefer reagents because to me, I feel chemicals sounds bad, gives people a negative opinion.

Same as recipe, I prefer saying procedure or paper over recipe, you use a recipe to cook and a procedure for technical work.
