Question about a particular rendition of an allylic reaction

So I'm trying to figure this synthesis problem for a chemical I want to make which is related to 1,4-addition of dienes. I want to know if it is possible to control the allyl shift because the allyl shift is not thermodynamically favored. If the reaction behaves just like a 1,2 vs 1,4 addition reaction then heat will solve my problem, if not I don't know if I should abandon this method or if there is a work around.
