Member Websites - A Compiled List !!

Well, that's it. Thought it was a nice idea to finally have a thread that lists all the websites from SM members.

Only those are listed whose links function (there were a lot of dead links to sort out first).

I will make updates now and then, currently those are 77 websites of 2795 members. (+ the ones listed in this thread)

If you want to have your link changed to something else, or add one as you have just uploaded your new site, or have
it deleted, just send me a U2U.
This is a great opportunity to get your google rating up, in the unlikely event you'd want this ;)

Many thanks go to Rogue Chemist and Axt, for making this fantastic improvement in making an HTML table with ratings. I am happily replacing the original text-version.

Enjoy!

I don't get it. Whats the point of your patent server link???
What does it have to do with member websites? Remember that's what this post was about!!

Yah I think you are right, on second thought.
I have added it to the list above.

I guess it makes sense to post a new message to notify the forum of his/her new website. Otherwise it's unlikely to be noticed, and after all this is what a website is about - that people have a look at it, and that it is noticed.

Therefore I think it makes sense that a member with a new website posts it right here, to be firstly noticed by other members, and to be added to the list above.

Fair enough? :P

Just FYI, Andyboy's site is down. I didn't even know he was a member here. He took it down back in november when he quit pyro and amature chemistry.

I'm kind of suprised that Thugsta's page is still up. I would have though he, or the FBI, would have taken it down after his little accident.

Anyway, I'll give a link to mine. I try to update on a semi-regular interval, but it hasn't been happening. I've been mainly into pyro lately, but there are some chem experiments I have up my sleeve.

I thought Andyboy just quit the online boards? He posted a while ago in Frogfot's guestbook saying how well something worked, so I do not think he has quit completly.

From what I have heard from him, and several people close to him is that he was completely done with pyro and amature chemistry. This was at the time being at least, about six months ago. He got rid of all his chems. This action tells me he got out of it. Perhaps he is back into the hobby, but I haven't heard from him about this.

He posted over at a pyro related forum I am a member of just to say hi about a month ago. He said all was well, and he has his second child on the way. His first child, and some legal threats from his then current girlfriend/fiance, was the main reason he quit from what I understand.

Major Update!

At last I got round to making an update of all the websites!

From previously 40 websites, there are now 77!!
Check them out, some are really good!

Again, if you want to change/add/delete one, let me know via U2U.
I did not select for content, except where sites were a) pornrelated (sorry, that's the wrong forum for that :P, b) 404 error c) with language/lettering that I couldnt assign to any language I know, with seemingly garbage content. Let me know if you discover non-functional links.

In other words, 98% is there, including a few irrelevant ones, but that's for you to select, not me!

Happy surfing!

You've forgotten lambdasyn.tk, although I advertise it with me sig in every post I made. :o
Maybe my sig isn't noticeable enough. Mmmh... what's the biggest font size here? No, wait maybe I should make an animated GIF for my signature. A stroboscopic one of course. ;);):P

Just to let ya know, this thread is now nicely viewable again (thx to those who pointed out the problem), with normal download times. It seems it was the font change that caused this (thx Polv.)

PS I am still wondering if anyone knows about HTML tables. I can't seem to get it to work. Any suggestions/examples pls post here!

I don't know much about tables, but it sounds like any will help, so.. :)

Should be something like:

You cant hit the return key at all if using tables, or the forum screws the formatting.

This might be considered a bit off-topic but I just can't leave this uncommented:

On psychopatics webpage he mentions a synthesis for nitroglycerine:

http://www.freewebs.com/insane_psychopat/nitro.htm

I'll translate:
Quote:

Make nitroglyverin!

Important

This is a very risky project and I advice against making the compound. But this is how you make it.

The three ingredients are sulfuric acid, gylcerine and nitric acid. /.../

Measure 100 ml nitric acid, 70 ml Glycerol, 80 ml sulfuric acid. Mix them all. Stir for half an hour. There should now be an oily layer on top of the mix. This is nitroglycerine.

Just a few weeks ago three 15 year old boys almost got themselves killed playing with explosives here in Sweden and isn't this procedure described by psychopatics utterly dangerous? I would guess mixing the everything together would make a runaway reaction and possibly an explosion. Correct me if I'm wrong.

My point: either psychopatich should revise this procedure or we shouldn't link to the site. It's just evil and it could kill someone.

It looks like a combination hotplate/stirrer used for its stirring ability. Notice that the temperature knob is turned all the way down while the stirring knob is way up. I'm not going to remove links to external sites for reasons other than spamming.

Chemoleo, to the list I would like to propose an addition of a rating/content system for the links, something such as:
Class # content
1 Chem
2 Energetics/pyrotechnics
3 Unrelated to anything on Sciencemadness
4 Under construction(nothing currently existant)
5 Idiotic kewl site

Of course there can be combinations of the above numbers.
There are examples of all of the above in your list. Nothing annoys me more when browsing for interesting chemistry, I stumble upon a 'make napalm with gas and styrofoam' type page.

What do you think? I would be willing to do the work if you are busy.

I am just joining the masses, it's still under construction tho! So as yet not alot interesting on there, cept for a link to here of course!!!

http://www.freemansteins-lab.co.uk

I sometimes wonder about some sites i find! They make you think..."How come they are still there!???"
Especially if they demonstrate a kitchen-table (not to mention, very very very freakin' dangerous) way of making Nitro!!!!

Its just plain stoooopid!!!

LambdaSyn becomes a .com-site now. It was exactly the right time, as the dot.tk-service overdid it with its advertisements and added an additional advertising bar to every free .tk-site.
And I'm especially happy to be finally able to make right refers to sub-documents on the site (like http://www.lambdasyn.com/synfiles/nikotin.htm), because this wasn't possible with the .tk-frame-site. Now nothing hinders the project from growing!

Great Site!

Mephisto, this is a truly fantastic site.

I really wonder how much work you must have put in, it looks like many thousands of man-hours.

Particularly I like that you did some of your own syntheses demonstrating the reality of the reaction, rather than just dry text book examples.

Well done seriously, I am almost jealous! ;-)

Also, rogue_chemist, you wanted to set something up, and I U2U'd you about it. Any progress?

I thought some sort of rating system for websites might be very useful. Nonetheless hard to implement. Let me know.

It is progressing, I am just currently very busy with uni(midterms the last few weeks). The content is nearly done, however, the html is still messing with the board appearance.
