Vogel. 5th edition

I have a pdf of Vogel's
Textbook of Organic Chemistry, 5th edition.
Very different from the old version in the SM library.
(as a hobby chemist I like the old version,
but the 5th edition is undoubtedly more useful)

The document is widely available for free download,
or U2U me with an email address.
I've not uploaded here as I think that it is copyrighted.

https://z-lib.org/ is a great site tor downloading books that is where I get all my stuff from, even my college text books lol.

Any books science or not are under books.

Papers can be searched with their DOI from articles. I have not had to hunt for the latest scihub mirror since I started using this site. Just when searching don't include doi.org like this doi.org/10.1021/jo051948k , just enter this section 10.1021/jo051948k

Vogel is so much used by me as a reference that I already prefer him in a printed form.
z-lib is a great pirate source of different scientific books, of course. I very love the "Inorganic Syntheses" series, by the way, you can find it there, starting from Volume 1.

Absolutely, I like having hardcopies too. It is nicer to read an actual book rather than an LCD. I do buy books I use often in hardcopy.

Digital and print go good together. Use the search function to pinpoint keywords, than read in print. I don't kniw hiw many times I was reading a printed book and wished it had a search function, sometimes the index just doesn't cut it.

I do own hard copies of all my college books too.

This is less than breaking news. There is an OCR version, a much smaller non-OCR, and .djvu too. Take a look at file>properties>description of your file, and my www.

It makes little sense to upload files here that are hosted elsewhere. IMHO it's best not to upload material just because uploads are allowed, so some caution is justified in that way. I would not worry about copyright for educational noncommercial use. There are many files that have been uploaded over and over again to several threads here or external sites, and it feels a bit spammy. If one finds a chemistry title, they should search a libgen.rs or archive.org and see if it's been uploaded; that's where it should go if not already there.

Feel free to join at least 5 members here who've scanned books. Many scans are from publishers but most are not.

The 1st edition is arrived today. In a very good condition.

So, it looks like I am returning to the roots.
