Essential oil
If my compound comprises 12% of my essential oil,
How much compound is there in 10mL, in milligrams?

Be more specific, what compound, what essential oil? Without this information we can only give a very rough guess. Based on your information, I would
say at most 1 gram, but more accuracy cannot be given.

it contains x mg
x = 10 * (oil density) * 12 / 100 * 1000
oil density is 0.8 to 0.9
I'm French so excuse my language

Nutmeg essential oil,
I was trying to figure out how many milligrams of mystricin sp? Would be contained ina given volume of essential oil.
Knowing that about say 12% of the essential oil is the myristicin

Hopefully m/m% %m/v is nonsense, and should be avoided, especially in non-aqueous mixtures.
Please remember: "Filtrate" is not a verb.

%m/v may look
gross from a pedantic perspective, but it is very useful! It’s far more practical than m/m or v/v when it comes to making stock solutions of
reagents, since you’ll know exactly how much mass of the diluted reagent you have in an easily measurable volume of solution. No fussing about with
densities or weighing out liquids. Of course, most of the time, a molar solution is even more practical, but %m/v and M can be easily interconverted.

% should be always by weight so measure out 10 ml, weigh it and multiply by 0,12 and you have the weight of your mystery oil fraction.
