Ethyl Bromide
hey all,
Never done an actual chemical reaction on my own, only distillations of good smelling flowers and extractions of medicinals (ginkolides!)
I am interested in making bromoethane, or ethyl bromide via the dehydration reaction with H2SO4 and NaBr.
I figure this has got to be one of the most fundamental chemistry experiments, and gives an extremely useful alkyl halide.

This guy seems pretty thorough, or atleast very helpful. Is he from this site?
Anyways. I looked up the MSDS of Tru-Blu and Leisure Time sodium bromide packs. I'm assuming they are >95% pure, as they only list one ingredient,
but have no indication of concentration, but I'm aware this is not always the case.
Has anyone done this reaction and can vouch for a brand?
PS: if this is already on this site, I can't find it - all that shows up is methyl bromide
