I deleted posts from both sides. and I tried to be fair.
Most of the deleted posts were for bad language.
I tried not to act as a censor but I only have limited free time to act as a moderator so it is easier to do a quick chop.
I have read Fahrenheit 451, 1984, Brave New World and more besides.
As far as I see it this forum does not have a thought police and there is no 'unthink'.
Language that would be banned in the US Congress and most parliaments is allowed in the Science Madness public square.

No thought policing involved, the thread was not deleted after all; it was just put to rest like the beaten dead horse that it was.

Radical environmentalists are inherently objectors to frank discussions which they want silenced, and SS obliged them. When radicals are responded to
honestly, they rail at reasonable men with false accusations and ridicule with malicious purpose, which is no controversy according to themselves. I
did hit the nail on the head by calling those radical environmentalists Marxist agent provocateurs, not as "name calling" but to use precisely correct
terminology for what they are. Controversy arises when honest and effective rebuttals effectively put those deceivers in their place. They can't take
being exposed so they cry foul. And SS listened to them, instead of telling them simply to STFU, and as a consequence later everybody has to shut up
when the thread becomes clogged with argument, is censored, and impudent irrational actors feel like a victory has been handed to them, emboldening
them to continue later with the same propaganda until the thread is locked as was their goal. That is what happened. The same Marxist radical
environmentalist trolls and "thread saboteurs" will continue as "spoilers" with the same lies, and the same phony science agenda at first opportunity.
They are not gentlemen and scholars but are troublemaking imbeciles. SS let an LSD addled vegetarian bicycle riding Marxist propagandist sabotage a
GW thread, with hissingnoise cheering him on every step of the way.

And with regards to posts simply being archived in detritus and not deleted outright, no that is not all that occurred. In fact some very cogent posts
by myself and IrC were deleted outright and those posts contained no foul language, but only expressed unimpeachable dissent and rebuttal towards
the trashing of the thread by both trolls and moderators.

For four years I rode a bicycle daily anywhere from 15 to 25 miles daily and sometimes 50 or more. Bicycles are not the issue. Imbeciles with

ScienceSquirrel is not chief censor. I am. I did the big pruning of the GW thread before it was closed. I also outright deleted a couple of posts from
Rosco and GreenD when it was apparent that the subtle hint of redirecting posts to Detritus wasn't working. GreenD had a larger proportion of his
posts in that thread sent to Detritus than Rosco did.
