Soaps - alcohol soluble.

Can somebody tell me - are potassium based soaps soluble in alcohol while sodium soaps are insoluble?
Thanks.

The oleates and stearates of both metals are soluble in alcohol.

Thanks.
I had a vague idea that the soft soaps based on potassium alkali might be more soluble than hard soaps based on sodium alkali.

soft vs hard: K vs Na

Why does potassium hydroxide produce a soft soap whereas sodium hydroxide produces a hard soap?

This is a question posed in the organic chemistry class I took last year. I was never able to find the answer.

Cannot answer magpies query but....

I do know that dissolving soaps in alchohol is precisely the way those clear soaps are made.
