Hi,

if i mix a ketone with an primary alkyl amine freebase, and some dried (microwave) Na2SO4, I will get 2 layers:
one clear (probably ketone and amine non reacted) and the lower layer (the na2so4 + some water (maybe 50% of the amine and the ketone reacted) and ?

do you think the imine would go in the water na2so4 layer, or in the organic layer ?

and if I add some toluene ? will the imine go in the organic layer ?

in fact, I ask because I didnt find any docs on the solubilty of alkyl imines (R1,R2-C=N-R3) in water and organic solvents.
