CISPA: A complete destruction of our privacy

CISPA, or the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act, passed back in April 26. This bill enforces tracking of all Internet activity, and allows that information to be used against you. Check these links for more info:

http://www.techdirt.com/articles/20120426/14505718671/insani...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyber_Intelligence_Sharing_and_...

We have got to do something before it's too late.

Put it this way. If they want you, they can already get you. Did you see that article in Wired about that new NSA data warehousing facility? Technologically, it sounds quite impressive.

The temptation for all this technology was simply too irresistible, I guess. Combine that with the fact that many people believe you are "free" as long as you can still watch television, and it's no wonder we're headed in the direction we are.

I guess the question that modern citizens should be asking is, "hey, your surveillance is nifty and all, but how do we prohibit you from building Room 101?" That prohibition has to be permanent and inflexible, and it has to carry stiff penalties. Otherwise the trends will simply "progress", inexorably, to a bad place. This issue will not be given the attention it needs, of course. Television beckons!

The hope with all this data sharing is that you have decent people running it. Gauging from the things that happened in Russia, circa 1919 to '52, that's not a given.

I do believe the President should veto this, of course, but like I said, the mechanisms are already there to share, data-mine, and pretty much examine each and every person out there. I guess when you have a complex industrialized society like ours, it becomes sort of inevitable that the protection mechanisms would become onerous.

What can you do? I don't like them sifting through my K-Mart receipts either, but if that prevents imaginations from running wild, then I guess that's the trade.

By the way, private companies are often touted as the cure-all for government bureaucracy, but anyone who's ever dealt with touch-tone menus knows these companies can be unbelievably incompetent. By the time the government gives itself permission to get all your data from the private sector (they already could get most) these companies have already leaked it to any number of telemarketers and cybercriminals.

One time when I was at the whitehouse a secret service agent asked me what I was doing here down from Philadelphia. I told him I have never been there in my entire life. After they looked some more at my information, they probably realized it was filled with mistakes and bogus information. With the government doing this, its bound to get screwed up.

Hey, maybe we can use this to our advantage. Give bogus credidentials to the websites you use. If the government goes looking for you they'll get confused!

The main thrust of CISPA is to give the film and music industries leverage to punish p2p networks. It show how far the corporate oligarchy has taken over what we used to call a republic. I'll make a prediction. More energy than ever will go into virus and trojan horse creation. A few people will get prosecuted for copyright violations. Most americans will stay asleep and think its fair and a good idea. A few more of us will move to countries that are freer or more affordable.

Actually this is the same thing that it always is with government. A way to give us "services" that we don't need so that they can have a reason to tax us more!!

Creating a police state would benefit no one (unless you allow the government
to seize the private property of offenders). Putting working people in jail only reduces the tax base. Of course you can put losers in jail but we already have the war on drugs for that.

However if you can convince the sheeple there is a threat out there then you can hire people to defend against it, hire bureaucrats to manage them and the old bureaucrats can manage the new bureaucrats which of course mean the old ones need to be paid even more. (I guess I have become a libertarian).

An of course we need to make the world save for the technological dinosaurs.

www.sovereignman.com/expat/are-they-spying-on-you

Excerpt from the article

" With ‘hotwatch orders,’ government agents are able to write their own administrative
subpoenas to surveil US citizens; they request the records of phone companies,
Internet service providers, video rentals, and even frequent flier / customer loyalty
programs at airlines and grocery stores.

Without court oversight, the subpoenas do not even need to be part of an ongoing
investigation or suspicion of criminal wrongdoing; US federal agents can simply decide
that a particular individual should be tracked, and then compel private companies to
provide a real time feed of his/her activities.

Frequently, the administrative subpoenas are accompanied by gag orders that prevent
the company from notifying its customer that they had been served with a subpoena.
More than likely, the customer will never know that his/her records are being
instantaneously relayed to a federal agent.

The thing is, these hotwatch orders are not expressly authorized under US law;
federal agents are capitalizing on loose language in existing laws that allow them to
write administrative subpoenas in certain instances… and they’re taking that limited
authority to extremes."

Without oversight or disclosure who can say how far this may extend.

Here is a related story on planned internet "regulations" and surveillance, which shows that evidently CISPA has a global counterpart which is like the planetary Big Brother "mother ship". WRT the Big Brother "mother ship" it would be reasonable to conclude it is manned of course by global directorate mother effers, or would that be "staffers" bureaucratic directorate personnel....who would be the watchers and shepherds over all the hordes of sheeple on the global plantation ....you know the "inmates" who are subjects and inhabitants of the various "circuit branches" of the global plantation and global grid that is the world wide web "matrix". Is that a pretty fair assessment of what the statist control freak utopianist "masterminds" are now up to ?????

Following up to this post

NSA e-mail omnipresent surveillance
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuET0kpHoyM

There are ethical people in government , recall that William Mark Felt ,
Associate Director of Federal Bureau of Investigation revealed to the
Washington Post the extent of lawless action sponsored by President
Richard M. Nixon.
In 1980 , Felt was convicted of the felony of violating the civil rights
of people thought to be associated with members of the Weather
Underground Organization , by ordering FBI agents to search their
homes as part of an attempt to prevent bombings , absent the
required warrant , but enacted with probable cause.

This ethic is also evident in this pledge cited in the foreword of
Where's What : Sources of Information for Federal Investigators
Harry J. Murphy , Office of Security , Central Intelligence Agency
" An Investigator must ever realize his tremendous responsibility.
On the one hand he is dealing with a most precious commodity
- a man's career - and on the other hand he is working to the
good of the United States Government. He must conduct his
inquiries in such a way as to never do disservice to either."

Here is more commentary on the ITU conference where the UN is seeking "police state authority" over the internet as one part of its tyrannical global governance scheme, which seeks ultimately to regulate and control EVERYTHING. Gee could there be something sinister about this level of "statism" ? Do you really think that the UN is diligently working to be a guardian of individual liberty and freedom and only seeks to serve such noble purposes or would it seem more likely they have something very different in mind for the worlds people ? ( that different idea being that the worlds people do what they are TOLD by the UN )
"a shared vision of how to create a harmonious international environment, that will continue to drive the innovation that is the lifeblood of the ITT sector" ????

Strip away the propaganda euphemisms and what the UN secretary general is actually talking about and advocating is global Big Brother controlling the web and turning the web into the same censored and brainwashing propaganda ministry as has already become network television and most of radio and print media. Journalism is nearly completely dead and now the statist control freaks are going after that communication medium where any surviving honest commentary resides...which is the internet.

Why would you need to , unless you're expecting trouble ,
and why would you expect it to come to that ?
Wasn't this done to Japanese americans , if it was wrong
in restrospect to do this then , what exactly makes it
right to do again now ?
I guess you have to be a lawyer in the employ of our

I treat my internet use as very much like walking down the street. it's public, and there are many places for people to observe me; balance this with the fact that 300 people on the Internet have the same name as me. While amateur "investigators" are bound to screw up, i kind of like the deniability it affords.

I always imagine the stupid FBI agents and police watching what we do like this:

FBI agent: Errr, look at this person, he's been posting on a chemistry forum about dihydrogen monoxide, I say we raid his house.
Agent 2: I agree, that sounds like a very dangerous chemical
