I have this unknown copper solution and I tried to precipitate it with NaOH, but the solution just turned to dark bluish-purple color. What was the copper compund?

Was in the colour of Copper sulphate to begin with?

Maybe it had ammonia in that intensifies the colour

If this was heated or heated up when adding the sodium hydroxide it may be copper oxide.

What actually IS the bluish color that develops on from a copper compound+NH3? is it the amide?

The blue color of a copper salt + ammonia is due to the formation of the complex tetraamine copper(II) [Cu(NH3)4]2+
