Raney Nickel with Pd/C - how clean and re-activate?

Hi. I'm working with Raney Nickel (300g) and Pd/C 10% (10g). After two uses this catalyst no working. I wash some distilled water but this no good results.

Please, how I clean and re-activate this mixture catalyst? Thanks for reply.

depends entirely on what you did with it, but lacking any and all details, first guess is to cook it. 300 °C in a 5%H2/N2 atmosphere maybe.

Pd/C 10% can be cleaned by NaOH to pH 7. Palladium lost activity at the 2 times using.
Problem is mixture this 2 types of catalyst. I got some reference, must read and try.

What are you doing with the catalyst? You didn't say.

Assuming it is hydrogenation. You could try cautiously soaking it in 3% hydrogen peroxide, with acetic acid, with warming.

This might partially reactivate your catalyst, or not.

As always, eventually....you will have to redissolve the Palladium content, and use the resulting Pd salt, to form fresh catalyst.
