Are the correspondents aware of horizontal gene transfer?

The phylogenetic tree contains some weird shit, and stuff like this has to be taken into account when considering whether or not any particular phylogenetic end-point could have been reached from putative progenitors.

Debating with Creationists is unproductive and no one ever convinces anyone of anything. All that happens is that the volume keeps rising.

Let's just say that evolution theory is to biology what the periodic table is to chemistry and the laws of thermodynamics are to physics.
