C6Cl3(CHO)3?
C6H3(CH3)3+3NaClO2-->3NaCl+C6H3(CHO)3+3H2O
3Cl2+C6H3(CHO)3-->3HCl+C6Cl3(CHO)3
Is this possible, and what good would it do?
??????????
F. de Lalande and M. Prud'homme showed that a mixture of boric oxide and sodium chloride is decomposed in a stream of dry air or oxygen at a red heat
with the evolution of chlorine.

Oh comon, what's this about?
You are trying to oxidise mesitylene (with NaClO2????), and to get the triply oxidised aldehyde species would be very tricky (polymerisation,
over/under oxidation).
Then chlorination... jeez.
How about we all start doing some random chemical juggling and then start asking what good what it would be? Comon!
