Very nice work but I love Thiele tubes - I have 3 of them. I love sitting in front of the Thiele and waving a bunsen burner over it as the
temperature slowly rises to the mp. I use DOT4 silicone brake fluid as heat transfer fluid.
Filling the capillary tube can indeed be a pain in the ass. I have found it best to first grind the powder very fine. I bought a small agate mortar
& pestle for this. Then poke the tube into the powder a few times, getting enough to fill the capillary about 6mm when compacted. Then pound the
tube against a hard table top very fast, letting it slip thru your fingers as it hits the table. You may have to pound many times.
In organic class they had 4 foot long glass tubes to drop the capillary through. But I don't think they work very well if at all.

Thiele tubes don't need batteries, so that's a bonus !
