No, sadly I dont have.
I learned though that when you seriously work on a project and post about your work that there are gladly people around with access willing to help.
Most of what I have done wouldn´t been possible if not.

most university libs let anyone access them, since they dont check whos coming in the door.(why would they?) Checking out materials might be a
different story though. So answering the question of who has access... I would say everyone who is willing to go to one.

I'm fortunate enough to, but they do check who gets in where I am. I hope to stay a member of the library after I complete my course but I
haven't looked into if this is possible / costs of this yet. They are very useful for books on the most difficult to find of data - I found a
great one listing all sorts of azeotropes the other day!

For my local university library one can get a special library card if you are not in the university. You have to get the card at the public library
though. The number of books you can borrow is limited, and late fees are greater. I am not sure on much more of the specifics of this card.

The closest university I live near required proof of being a student/professor last time I checked, but one of my friends dad is a professor there, so
I do kind of have access. But I just go to any library (except for this one I hate) if I have to.

There is only one University where I live in, and the uni library is open to anybody fortunately. I love it, although it is sometimes outdated due to
lack of resources. There are other 'local' libraries of no real use except a central one which is quite up-to-date. Love university,
hopefully next year I'll be in one.
Theory guides, experiment decides.

Yes, I feel very fortunate having a university library nearby. They will let anyone in. As a student I have been able to get librarian assistance on
difficult to find journal articles.

From the looks of things, most of us are in or near universities. I have access
to a library as well, since alumni are allowed free access in my alma mater. I guess I just wanted to gauge how much resources you people have.
This poll wouldn't be that visible if it was in Whimsy, cyclonite4.
Now that Tim mentions it, I consider the Internet to be the biggest library in existence, albeit incomplete. But a few groups seem to have remedies to
this.

Alumni are also allowed free access to the library of the university where I obtained my B.E.(Chem.Eng.), Auckland University, although not, AFAIK,
the ability to remotely download files from a password-protected FTP site (only staff and enrolled students can do that, normally).
Better still, can any other forum members, especially those who are current students, give us the full URLs, with log-in names and passwords, of any
password-protected university FTP sites which have material and software of interest to us, and for access to online scientific periodicals? I am sure
that those who are nearly at the end of their degree courses could disclose these to us without possible damaging repercussions.

I have acces to a university library as a student, the only trouble is that it's worth shit.
The mathsquad took over the library a few years ago and cut the funding on chemistry book purchases. They also seem more keen to use the library and
its "population" as a nice statistical entity to study upon, as to run it. 
Not the mention they scrapped JoPEP from the online journals!

now?
JohnWW, your idea is good, but methinks this is not the proper place to be disclosing passwords to libraries. It's already bad enough as a
security breach.
Might as well rant while I'm at it. Funding at our school is so low (it's a state university), our latest journals are circa 1999!!! Jeez!
Don't they know we can't compete without breakthroughs?
