On hyper link thingies

I see just about every link in this site is mucked up.
The correct way to make a link i believe is to write

[url]www.something-or-other.com [/url]

alternatively (sp) you might use hyper text markup... all of these command thingies should be within , but then i wouldn't be able to write it...
so {} = <>
{html}{a href="http://www.something-or-other.com/"}The text of your link here{/a}{/html}

that should look like this... The text of your link here

if you really want to get snazzy, you could set the target to a new browser window...
or even have a picture instead of text!! wow... Instead of "the text of your link here" put "{img src="http://www.whereveryouputyourpicture.com/thepicture.jpg"}
