A connection to the Database could not be established.
Please check your username, password, database name and host.
Also make sure config.php is rightly configured!

When connecting, the database returned:

I briefly saw the database error myself, though I haven't seen the slowness that others have reported. I did notice at the time that there were around 40 people visiting the board, which is a considerable number for this site. It may be that the board is loading MySQL too heavily when many people are viewing; I know that this version of XMB uses it quite inefficiently. However, I am reluctant to upgrade to the new XMB until it has seen some months of use by others. Never buy a product with a low serial number... even if it's free ;)

However, if this becomes a regular problem I will bite the bullet and upgrade even if it does make me a bit uncomfortable. Known problems aren't better than unknown possible problems.

Before you upgrade, could you please make a forum backup (wanted to ask you for that anyway) and post a link to it?

BTW, on the European continent, we had similar connection troubles :P

I went to investigate it just now and it seems to be working correctly. Are others currently able to connect with https?

I just tried and was unable to reproduce your problem. Are you using a proxy? Can you try using a different web browser or internet connection.
