Heating Benzeldehyde+L-Alanine=?
Festers 5th edition states that simply heating 50g bnz with 20g n-methyl-alanine @ 150`c untill co2 production stops will yeild 12 grams of
pseudoephedrine/ephedrine isomers.
n-methyl-alanine appears to be near impossible to obtain and vary expensive but L-alanine is cheap and easy to obtain
It almost seems to good to be true if l-alanine would yeild a good starting material in such a easy to prepare manner.
