Q. about hydrolyzing hexamine

I was reading one of Festers books when I came across his directions for hydrolyzing hexamine, he suggests pouring the hex into say -20 deg HCl over about 15 minutes.

The way I've done it is by putting the hex in a RBF with condenser and pouring room temp HCl straight in. Could I be loosing formaldehyde this way?
