What Frustrates me as a DIY Chemist is that the people in the forums tend to start to argue pretty soon about anything, whatever the thread is about lol!

Now honestly, what most frustrates me is the look on the face of the employes wherever I try to get some irregular OTC reagents. And the look gets even worse after explaining myself what I need it for :o

I know what you mean exactly! I got that when I was gathering materials at a Lowes/Home Depot to build a catapult. A friggin' catapult!

The volatile chemist, a catapult! that's too funny. I can't even imagine what the employees must have been thinking to cause concern, possibly they though you would use your catapult to breach the walls of the Whitehouse and take over America:p

Lol thats even worse than my experiences!
Everything that gets a little bit out of their "routine" frightens them.
They are like:
There is so much stuff ready to buy, why would you need anything that isn't for purchase???
Creative? Must be a terrorist/meth cook/gangster!!!

Dude, creativity is lame compared to logic... ;)
One thing that frustrates me is that vacuum filter kits always cost on the order of $50, which is pretty unreasonable considering the contents.

The cheapest hand vacuum pump in my region costs 40$. I'd say everything else in that kit costs pretty much nothing.

Living in very remote area..... very high shipping charges on glass or simple chemicals and I cannot have any oxidizers nor reagents shipped. No chlorates, no nitrates, no acids, no peroxides.

Any oxidizers I want (even nitrites!) I have to either acquire from some other "safe" product or synthesize somehow. It gets unpleasant very quickly....

Price of analytic grade reagents + the fact that lower grade stuff is basically not available anywhere... although I'm kinda of grateful I can show my university student ID and get to buy the reagents with a lesser amount of people thinking I'm some sort of breaking bad meth cook or terrorist....

That's hilarious. The best reply would be "I'd like that. Do you have any?"

The fustration for me is chemophobia and preconceptions.
1.Mom:Why arent you wearing gloves for this?(I made sodium bicarbonate solution)
2.Shop: Please don't blow yourself up,why do you need it?,i can't give this to you because you are underage(there was a bad suicide in my town)Me:I will buy it somewhere else XD
Etc...

Chemophobia and preconceptions are not the problem, the problem is that the people are morons and refuse to live their lifes. Just lemme sit in front of TV and eat - this is the highest dream a regular man can imagine. If you did not realized that - then you are too young and inexperienced, or too old and stupid.
In most countries being amateur chemists = being terrorist/drug dealer. And I'd say it's close to the truth.

Yes,I realised that,in the first few months in my hobbie.
But if I say to them not to watch the TV and eat and go out for some exercise, they are call me prude and a c*nt.
No,the drug dealers and terrorist are not chemist.Just criminals.

I was once buying stump remover (several pounds) and the cashier started to edge the conversation a bit: "So... I suppose you must have a lot of stumps?" Another time a cashier cut straight to the chase: "uhm... Thinking about making a bomb?" The second time, her supervisor heard or something and jumped in, thinking that I was being harassed by an employee. These supply runs always get my blood flowing.

Use a watchglass to cover a beaker/container or use Aluminum foil if your chemicals won't react with it.

Youtube channel is Camroc37.
I make chemistry videos.

That's hilarious! I just was given my pay in cash, not check, by an employer, so I think I'm gonna make a supply run tomorrow at the grocery store if I'm not on-duty.

I actually told the guy there's no need to worry about TNT.It's hard to make at home and I know how to make more powerful things then gave ETN as example...

Very nice way to continue a conversation, next time you go in the guy at the counter won't be the only one talking to you :)
