Well, the http://www.sciencemadness.org/talk/viewthread.php?tid=13130 is a publication bout decarboxylation of nicotinic acid (the goddamn title is misleading).
Here's references I've collected some time ago:
http://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/bpt6k90810b/f29.image.langE... - Old journal mentioning pyridine via glycerol + ammonium phosphate
https://www.thevespiary.org/rhodium/synthetikal/www.syntheti... - Discussion (synthetikal.com forum index -> General Chemistry -> Pyridine Synthesis)
http://mistug.tubitak.gov.tr/bdyim/abs.php?dergi=kim&rak... , doi:10.3906/kim-1312-47 - Moderd turkish article, open access, now go and test the method RIGHT NOW, because I'm so lazy to do that.
PS: also I'd like to describe some of my experience of handling acrolein, which obviously will be generated in the reaction. This is a really nasty stuff, it burns your nose and eyes at concentration as low as 1 ppm, has horrible odor, it becomes difficult to breath, and at 10 ppm it can kill you if you are stupid enought to continue inhaling this shit.

Yes, basic copper carbonate or copper oxide work fine, both are easily made or purchased.
