Stuff in my Disulphur Dichloride

After synthesising about 75ml of S2Cl2 about a month ago, it's been sitting a bottle.

The plastic top of the Simax bottle has discoloured in the middle where the Top is all that there is between the contents and the outside world.

At the bottom of the bottle are some globular crystals.

Seeing as only S and Cl went into the reaction, would these simply be crystals of S ?

The strange thing is that they're transparent.

Perhaps only transparent in S2Cl2 ?

Tops of that bottles probably tend to discolour. In my example I have blue top with huge white circle after storing zinc chloride solution in hydrochloric acid (Lucas' reagent) for few months. So if could be done by hydrogen chloride gas I think that chlorine will achieve even faster (if S2Cl2 decomposed into elements).

Crystals filtered out, washed in DIW, dried, and they're Sulphur.

That must mean that some chlorine has run away to far away lands.

Amazingly they do not look like any crystals in your link.

They are most like those in the clamshell about halfway down the page on the right.
