Laboratory notebook

For a beginner with his first laboratory notebook is it a better idea to get one with graph paper or lined paper? I have a lot of extra from school starting

LINED, all day long (and college ruled IMO). I have only need ever needed graph paper for acid/ base equilibrium titrations, and I just drew it on graph paper and pasted in my notebook.
