attach a stirring rod to a Talboy's stirring bodine motor

Hello
I have a Talboy's engineering bodine stirrer motor and found that my stirring rod does not attach nor fit snugly into the attachment fixture.
I sent a message to the ebay seller over this concern and I was told that I needed a 1/4 inch coupler.

I have looked at several types of 1/4 inch couplers and I am unsure as to which coupler would work.

I will attach photos of the rod and motor.

I had to buy a chuck at Ace hardware, then an adapter atMcMaster-Carr mail order. my mixer is not a Talboy, however.

3D printer shaft coupling may be useful. Also see:

update:

I just discovered after 3 test uses that my motor has died; it looks like I will have to get a new one.
