I was wondering if this extremely usefull peptone synthesis could be added to the SM library...
Protocol for peptone synthesis:
- Take all spoiled left-overs from your fridge and add them to a blender (preferably meat or dairy products)
- Put your finger in your throat and vomit several times to produce sufficient amounts of pepsin
- Blend the suspension until it has become a smooth paste and adjust the pH to 2
- Incubate for several days at 37 deg. C. and stirr ocasionally
- Add the entire solution to a filter paper to remove any impurities and dry the filtrate under reduced pressure to yield dry peptone
Note: Preparation time can be reduced by eating the spoiled food first, ommiting the blending and incubation step, after which vomiting is induced
