Propositioned by U2U
I am a new member, and have been recently propositioned to synthesize a material for another user.
It's not an illegal substance, but it strikes me as rather shady.
Does this happen a lot here?
Is there a reporting mechanism for this behavior?

The same thing just arrived in my inbox too.
This is very unusual, but it's a public forum, so anything can happen.
My view is that it's a wind-up : nobody in their right mind would ask an amateur to synthesise a drug.

Interestingly, the US Government has put out a contract for the synthesis of hydoxynorketamine analogs:

That proposal from the Gov. Might be why Mrmario has been asking about it, too. There appears to have been some reasonable discussion in his thread,
so maybe a simple reference to the thread would suffice?
I don't like the idea of capitalizing off the membership, here (unless some compensation or donation to the forum can be arranged), but these things
do occasionally lead to stimulating discussion. So, maybe let them (all who come seeking hydroxynorketamine) all work it out together, if they can?

How much more effectively banned can they get. Yes, user accounts still exists in those names. But he/she/they can't DO anything under them, except
read the forum.
It is possible that this is a person who should REALLY be talking with student health services, rather than trying to arrange for self medication. And
who knows. Perhaps after getting back on an even keel? Could even get un banned.
Or it could be one of our more perverse and nihilistic members having fun with a sock puppet account, that last batch of **** was so good they just
couldn't resist screwing around.
Or it could be some fuckstick in law enforcement, trolling for a stupid or greedy hobby chemist, trying to groom/manufacture a drug criminal for a
bust. USA law enforcement certainly has a loooooooong history of soliciting for activities like this, for everything from recreational drug
manufacture to terrorism and murder for hire. It is far safer and more predictable than actually FINDING an existing criminal or terrorist and getting
enough on them to get a conviction.
Regardless- They will need to make another account to continue annoying other members, same as if I erased their history.
So, anyone dumb enough to want to become a moderator and take over trying to parse this kind of activity?
