[Help] Poor's man contact process
Hi everybody!
I was wondering if it exist some solid catalyst that can replace the Vanadia in the sulfur dioxide oxidation, other than platinum. It exists?

V2O5 IS the poor man's catalyst. You can get it for like $20 USD for 500g for pottery grade. And you only actually need a few grams
of it. Even if you can get an element sample of the metal from China or something, then oxidize it with bleach, or acid + peroxide or something. You
probably want to get the blue oxalate salt for loading onto your support though. It'll decompose to V2O5, and unlike V2O5, it's very soluble in
water.
