Clemmensen reduction methylone to mdma?
i am not that damn smart but after lots of studying i have some questions which are all theoretical as drug making is not what swim does.
The reduction of Methcathinone to Methamphetamine would be the Clemmensen Reduction.
i wonder if Methylenedioxy-Methcathinone (Methylone) would be reduced to Methylenedioxy-Methamphetamine (MDMA) by using the Clemmensen reduction to
remove the beta-ketone without hurting the methylenedioxy bridge.
Even if the reaction only gave 10-30% i think it would theoretically be perfect for some people.
Although expensive, Methylone is available.
A few more questions are
1. Would just Zn metal be usable or is Zn amalgam needed?
2. id love to know more aobut this reaction and how it could work on methylone to mdma

yeah i thought the clemmensen because of its acidic environment would hurt the methylenedioxy bridge.
wolff kishner probably alot better
