Using vacuum distilling aparatus as a dessicator
I always have a problem with drying powders i make in my amateur lab. Lately i bought cheapest vacuum filtration (porcelain buchner and vacuum flask).
As i am beginning i use 100ml syringe to vacuum air from this. With that setup its hard to dry anything well. Also as i experienced its not good to
put different compounds on hotplate to dry it up. In summer i simply put this outside but i need something much more efficient. So i was wondering if
i put in flask hygroscopic compound and leave my powder to dry in buchner funnel will it work. If you have better idea write it.

Wait, do you mean vacuum distillation or vacuum filtration? It sounds like you're describing a filtration apparatus.
I don't think a desiccant in the vacuum flask will be very good at drying a compound in the funnel. You could try the other way around, however, in
which case the desiccant would dry the air moving through the funnel and over the thing being dried.

Sorry i messed two things i mean filtration. I want to leave a compound on funnel and put something hygroscopic in flask and leave it not sucking.

This is not going to be efficient unless you have something that moves the air.
But yes capping the filtration funnel to create a sealed system then using a
desiccant in the filtration flask will dry the compound eventually.
A large sealable jar from walmart (or equivalent), with desiccant in the bottom
and a platform (use your imagination) for the compound would work better.

desiccating, vacuum and heat are the usual ways to remove water.
everything is going to fall in one of these categories.
non-chemical desiccating is actually just lowering the vapor pressure of water,
so it is really the same as vacuum.
chemical desiccants that directly interact with the compound have
a different action but then you have to separate the chemical desiccant.
This is easy when you are drying a solvent mixture or a liquid you can distill.
