Ni on charcoal catalyst.

I was surfing for information on catalysts at the hive when I came across a topic on using Ni on charcoal as a replacement for Pd, as a catalyst. I was hoping to possibly apply it to my research in converting ammonium to HNO3 via catalyst. It could also have use as a cheap catalyst in many organic syntheses. I figured that you guys may find it intresting. Anways heres the PDF documents.

Sorry to tell, but I am quite sure that this catalyst is not useful in a ammonia to nitric acid process.
By far not active enough.
Also in most organic reactions the traditional Urushibara catalyst in it´s several ways of preparation (acidic or basic) seems preferable to me from flexibility and ease.
I believe that Ni-hydrides will make good catalysts in future and that the zeolithes are a way to go also for the amateur experimenter.

I attached something on zeolithes - not 100% on topic but sitting on my hdd it helps nobody.
