Hello guys,
got up to 200g of
4-(Dimethylamino)butyraldehyde Dimethyl Acetal CAS-Nr.：19718-92-4 >97.3 %, GC avaliable
to share. If you like some, I'm always in the mood of new glassware or other fancy stuff (I do not sell).
I already wrote nearly the same post here so if it is considered as a double please delete one.
I really did not pay much and I do not want to make buisness. Most vendors do sell this chemical too expensive in my opinion, more kind of rip off so
let´s see some nice Claisen-Eschenmooser soon I hope

Ok changed my mind, I am willing to sell the appx 200g for 5$ per gram. excl shipping and packaging no matter how much you want. shipping within
europe is no problem.

You can do a Fischer indole synthesis with 4-x substituted phenylhydrazines or eschenmoser-claisen rearrangement should be possible. I had a good
example for the eschenmoser but I do not find it atm, sorry, I will post it as soon as I find it again

Well, thats exactly the way I felt on getting the wrong chem. Sadly illigal to synthesise, this would be the way to use your "on-board reactor" if one likes to play on his own chemistry anyway.

Isn't that CAS 1116-77-4?
Also, € 3 per gram is what you can get from suppliers in general — Even 2 €/gram if you buy 25 g of it

No it isn´t. You mention the diethyl acetal, I posted the dimethyl acetal.
The methyl is at 167 eur per 25g on tcichemicals.
And even in larger amounts it´d be about 1 eur per ml as far as I know.

In the fischer the acetal has to undergo hydrolysis first, maybe the methy hydrolyses more readily than the ethyl under those conditions. But actually
I dont know. Quite large difference for nearly the same compound, I think even the same manufacturing route except for the MeOH/EtOH swap.
