Br does not play a role, there could be any other substituent in this position (e.g. H, CH3, Cl, COOR, CN etc.). Iodine works as a dehydrogenating agent.

thx, so first photocyclisation and than dehydrogenation, is this position stronger in reactivity than other positions in product ?
