What do you think of this?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/261489385233?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:I...

100% (not really) ethanol $15 with shipping, I'm not sure if denatured or not, but it says CONTAINS Ethyl Alcohol

No denaturing agents listed... I ordered one, figured it couldn't hurt.

500ml of [100%] ethanol doesn't seem all that bad. And if it is miraculously undenatured, all the better!

If it's denatured, it's really expensive. But, generally 200 proof means that it's anhydrous ethanol, if it is, great find!

Fisher scientific seems to be the only official retailer and they're charging $25.00:o. http://www.fishersci.com/ecomm/servlet/fsproductdetail?store...

@plante1999 I think you should be good. According to this page eBay Paypal Protection it looks like you just have to make a claim within 45 days.

The guy had not shipped it after 7 open days, so I made a claim, but then he shipped it, so I removed my claim, but you can't make a claim twice on a purchace, so he managed to scam me by making me make a claim on the shipping...

I never asked for this.

there should always be buyer protection on ebay. got to your purchase summary tab in "my ebay", press the "view order details" on the right of the auction in question( even completed ones ). half way down on the right of that page should be the total $ spent, and right below it is "resolve a problem". you should have no problem if there was a shipping time issue and a discrepancy in the product description. don't think they have anything to do with each other.

2lb ammonium perchlorate
1lb barium carbonate
3lb calcium hydroxide
5lb 68% calcium hypochlorite, granular for chlorine generation
1lb aspirin powder for animals
500g mossy tin metal
1kg ascorbic acid
110g resorcinol
1 gallon formic acid 95% in 4x 1qt lots

And, of course, 35-ish kilos of mercury metal. Let me know if you want some. Actually, if you want a little bit of anything here, let me know. I'm already geared up to ship mercury, so why not?

No glass this time, but I am looking for a cold finger condenser and a dewar condenser in 24/40.

I currently run a small business that consumes a lot of essential oils, so my last orders are a mix of "neat stuff that the essential oil supplier carries for cheap" and some products from a supplement distributor that I actually have planned uses for.

100g camphor
100ml cassia bark essential oil (min. 85% cinnamaldehyde)
100g calcium pyruvate
50g anhydrous caffeine
250g ascorbic acid
100g arginine alphaketoglutarate (I just need the ketoglutarate half... it is very hard to find simple Na/K/Ca/Mg salts of alpha-ketoglutaric acid)

Does Praxair sell to individuals? :o I have been going to a far away welding store all this time to get my LN2, when I can just go to Praxair about a mile down the street?!?!

Of course. You need to have the proper container though... They won't fill a styrofoam cooler or a large thermos. I have a 5 liter dewar which seems to be okay with them. Dry ice they sell to anyone and their dog lol

May I ask what this can be used for? I recently made a small amount of pyruvic acid but really don't know what to do with it.

I'll likely try to decarboxylate it with the copper-chrome catalyst I used to make pyridine.

Just ordered 12 half-gallon and 8 one-gallon wide-mouth glass jars to hold reagents. I usually buy a kilo or two of whatever chemical when I order it, so for many reagents my 32oz jars just don't cut it.

Also picked up a 40x200mm ID dewar condenser, an 8"x8" lab jack, and a bunch more bossheads and clamps. Got some stuff using liquid ammonia coming up soon.

I am now adding my current chemical stock list to my signature.

Just received my first order from Elemental Scientific:
1lb manganese dioxide
1lb potassium hydroxide
4oz barium chloride dihydrate
4oz nickel chloride hexahydrate
1 oz cobalt sulfate heptahydrate

As well as several bottles, a bunch of little vials (who doesn't love little vials?) and some misc. hardware.

4lbs Tellurium ( 2 ingots not shown, look like the last one)

I have already attempted contact of staff at CSUC ( chico state university ) regarding an XRF test of the Ir powder. Though no one seems to get back to me yet... I was hoping to have it certified in some fashion before leaving feedback. Not all Ebay purchases are to be trusted, but I love the "NOT as described" safety feature.

When I was a kid I would nerd out on the Merck Index. My favorite section was the fluorine compounds: fluorine monoxide, chlorine trifluoride, fluorine nitrate... very danger, much reactive! Around this time, there was also a clinical case study of a bad hydrofluoric acid burn in Discover. They sort of captured my imagination; I even had an idea for a scifi story about a spaceship whose reactor starts leaking fluorine, and the crew has to try to seal it, in Teflon mechas.

So, I couldn't not pick this up when I saw it in the grocery store (!):

In case you're wondering I do indeed have plans for it. Specifically:
1. Look at.
2. Giggle nervously.
3. GOTO 1.

How was ordering from Elemental in Canada? I'm curious to try them out as soon as possible!

I recently got an unopened lecture bottle of oxygen for reasonably cheap :D

The service was great! Shipping was no issue and the cost was reasonable (they deal with all the customs fees once you pay the original shipping quote). Tom was also very helpful in addressing any questions/concerns. Definitely going to be ordering from them in the future!

I just ordered 200 mg of C60 (fullerene) from an eBay seller (it is not cheap, this sample cost me EUR 14.70). This is not intended for experiments, but as part of my element collection. I also want to make a sample of C60, dissolved in an organic solvent. Just a fraction of a mg gives a beautiful deep purple color. C60 is one of the allotropes of carbon, which does dissolve in ordinary solvents! When the material arrives, I will make pictures of it and show it here.
