Can you use Water as an eluent on an Alumina column?

The only solvent my compound is soluble in is aqueous NaOH at a pH of 10. So I'm thinking of running an alumina column and use water as eluent, will that work? Any drawbacks?

Hi is the compound Fe2+ or Fe3+ ions by any chance?

No. What's your opinion, can you use water as eluent on alumina?

It should be fine to elute. pH 10 isn't high enough to dissolve alumina.
