The synthesis of cyclohexanetetramethanoltetranitrate
give a strong old energetic material, a old
synthesis from WWII.
To 100 ml 85% HNO3 add 10 g of cyclohexanetetramethanol at 5 C, stirr for 10 minutes and than add 100 ml 96 % H2SO4 dropwise. Keep the temperature at
5 C and stirr for additional 10 minutes. Filter out the white crystals whit a acid filter and dry at room temperature. It`s a very good energetic
material. It`s soluble in whater.
