ClSO2OH is used to prepare sulfonic acids, which are useful in detergents and as chemical intermediates:

ROH + ClSO3H → ROSO3H + HCl

An early synthesis of saccharin begins with the reaction of toluene with ClSO2OH to give the ortho- and para-toluene sulfonyl chloride derivatives:

CH3C6H5 + 2ClSO2OH → CH3C6H4SO2Cl + H2SO4

Oxidation of the ortho isomer gives the benzoic acid derivative that then is cyclized with ammonia and neutralized with base to afford saccharin.

Anybody know how we can convert Chlorosulfonic acid to Sulfonic acid?
Bubbling Hydrogen gas may work?
My friend has 1000kilo of it.
That is terrible componet and he want to easy conver it to safe product

exactly what do want ??? convert it to any sulfonic acid derivaive or sulfurous acid

A METRIC TON? Seriously, you are asking on an amateur forum how to dispose of it?

Edit: Contact me via U2U, I will give you my paypal. Give me $250 I will tell you how to dispose of it.

He want to convert it to sulfurous acid
smv i dont want to sale meteric ton or buying or trading or anything else just i have simple question
How we can convert chlorosulfonic acid to sulfurous acid or another simple componet(simple for make using Chlorosulfonic acid)
Bubbling hydrogen into chlorosulfonic acid may help him?
Forget meteric ton

Can he sell it to a chemical company?

Cholorosulfonic acid is not useful here(yesterday he told me by phone that he has 8000 kilo gram of that)
He Bought that 20 years ago and now isnot useful
He want to convert that to useful and easy to prepare componet (like sulfurous acid)
Just i have this question"does bubbling hydrogen into CSA lead to sulfurous acid?"
Thanks

Converting chlorosulfonic acid to sulfite is more difficult than converting to sulfate. React it with Na2CO3 to convert it to the sulfate, something much easier to dispose of then a sulfite or worse sulfurous acid; release of acids are generally regulated, plus both the acid and salts (sulfites) are sources of SO2.
