How would I Extract Iron from Bog Iron

Is it possible to sperarate iron from bog iron without using poisonous CO, I want to get a soluble salt like Iron Acetate or something like that. Thanks for the help

cody searched bog iron to smelt it, if you just want an iron salt just add the acid you want. bog iron is iron oxyhydroxides, already oxidized, add acetic acid or any acid of your choice, it should dissolve bog iron (essentially it is rust)
