I am thinking of recreating the iodine clock experiment as NileRed did on his channel and wondering if at the end of the experiment the products
obtained can be discharged down the drain, I found in a chemistry experiment book ("Una Química Divertida" , by Miguel Fernandez Braña; I'm afraid
it is only in Spanish) that those can be removed by draining iodine residues if you previously make them react with sodium thiocyanate, so I thought
that my product mixture obtained in the iodine clock could be eliminated. So I seek the opinion of people with more chemical knowledge and experience
than me, since I am only a pharmacy student and I am starting with "homemade" chemical experiments.

PS: I was wondering if is it necessary to add glacial acetic acid to the reaction? Because according to several sources that I have consulted, some
researchers say that it has to be in an acid medium while others that it must not.
