Restoration of MMO electrode using lead chlorate PbO2 bath

I had a slightly damaged MMO anode from salt cake electrolysis to produce HCl via membrane from my previous video.
I have decided to never do salt cake electrolysis again and instead use a PbO2 plated anode so that even if chloride levels get low it wont matter that much for PbO2.

What do you mean by "salt cake" electrolysis?

Salt cake electrolysis is where the anode chamber is filled with salt slurry which also helps increase the efficiency of the porous barrier and allow for more Cl2 evolution than using liquid feed so a flow cell is not needed.

Such a setup has a drawback where pH of the salt cake will go up if the membrane fails!! so care must be taken in order to avoid this so the usage of sodium terephthalate impregnated PVC is highly resistant to the corrosive environments of a salt cake chloro alkali cell.
