MnO2 synthesis (CMD/AMD)

I've stumbled upon an interesting paper[1] using chemical manganese dioxide (CMD) instead of activated manganese dioxide for mild alcohol oxidation.

I'm looking for a route on how to synthesize active CMD. Could this work?

Mn2O7 + 3 MnO → 5 MnO2
or
2 KMnO4 + 3 MnSO4 + 2 H2O→ 5 MnO2 + K2SO4 + 2 H2SO4

Alternatively, I've found a procedure talking about potassium permanganate and activated carbon[2] yielding activated manganese dioxide.

Another procedure, activated manganese dioxide, starts with manganous sulfate, sodium hydroxide, potassium permanganate and is then activated by water removal using azeotropic distillation with benzene[3].

My goal is primary alcohol oxidation to an aldehyde. Does anyone have any experience with this or some tips?:)

I am not an expert on organics, but MnO2 made from KMnO4 is pretty reactive, so I think that this is good precursor for your activated manganese dioxide. This higher reactivity is caused by presence of alkali metal ion in the crystal lattice of MnO2.
