Giving Away My Collection

phi_dot - 3-3-2022 at 12:56

Hello Everyone,

I recently had some a job offer that will be forcing me to relocate, and unfortunately this means that I will be unable to take my chemistry supplies with me.

I have a good amount of stuff, lots of it unused. In the interest of avoiding waste I thought I'd offer it here. I'm going to list chemicals for now, will list glassware and apparatus later. Hopefully once I get a couple reviews I will ask for shipping costs so that I'm not paying to give things away.

Here goes it...

Acetic Acid
Aluminum Chloride (anhydrous)
CaCl2
Copper (I) Bromide
Cyclopentyl Bromide
Ethyl Benzoate
Fine White Sand
Iodine
Magnesium (granules)
Monopotassium Phosphate
NaCl
N-Bromosuccinimide (NBS)
Ninhydrin
para-anisaldehyde
para-dichlorobenzene
Potassium Iodide
Propionamide
Propionic Acid
Salicylic Acid
Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate (NaDCC)
Sodium Thiosulfate (anhydrous)
Triethylamine
Undecane

Still on the fence about keeping the rest of my chems but if I decide to part with them I will edit and post them here.

Too bad you have to get rid of your stuff... Where are you located?

phi_dot - 3-3-2022 at 15:01

I'm in the US.

I'd be interested in the aluminum chloride, iodine, NBS, KI, NaDCC, sodium thiosulfate and undecane.

Sorry you've gotta purge your lab, friend. Nice gesture offering to give away your reagents.

I would be interested in the sodium thiosulfate and NBS, like the gentlemen above me. Need a sulfur source to conduct some experiments with thioacids, and NBS is one I do not have and could certainly find a use for in one of my experiments. Cheers mate.

Magnesium iodine

I'm sorry that sounds like a super crappy situation. :( I wish it was easier to play with this kinda stuff as it can be really satisfying.

I can cover shopping costs and pay you as well for anything you want to send my way. I'd find a use for all of it.

I hope you're able to find a nice setup or easier hobby to pursue in your new location. Moving can be a huge change. Stay well!
