Was reading up on Harris Process of refining lead, the process can remove tin, tellerium, arsenic, antimony from lead using sodium hydroxde and sodium
nitrate, all in molten state poured into molten lead alloys. Has anyone tried this? I'm wanting to purify my lead alloy. I know my lead definitely has
antimony or tin in it. I'm looking to purify it for chemistry wise to make lead nitrate if possible.

I recycle my lead waste by dissolving as much as possible in consentrated HCl.
Then filter.
Afterwards i remove the excess HCl by boiling it off
Filter again to remove AgCl
Then add NaHCO3 to percipitate PbCO3
Then filter and wash.
Add some sawdust and cook at 700c for about an hour.
Once you have the PbCO3, you can react directly with nitric acid. You don't need to go all the way to the metal

This stuff is very toxic
