Hi everyone. My name is Alberto and I'm from Spain.
I found this forum looking for vacuum and I think is great. I like a lot of branches of science but I'm more focused in physics. I just made a oil
diffusion vacuum pump and also making my own triodes, CRT and x-ray tubes with it.
Best regards

Welcome! I am a relatively new member myself.
Be sure to check out the forum's Wiki pages and Library. There is some useful information there. While this site seems to specialize in chemistry
mostly, the Electronics section of the forum has threads describing several projects akin to those you had described. Good luck!

Hi and welcome to the Forum! Do you have a website or a YouTube channel. I'd love to see your experiments
I also did theoretical physics officially for three years, and I learned and am still learning chemistry on my own.

Thank you.
No web or YouTube but here it is the vacuum system I just built. Most of the parts are bought, the valves and the KF connections, but the pump, the
support and the electronics are homemade.

It works great. 0,001 microbars in just 30 minutes

would love to see the inside of thr diff pump.
I made one out of ss tea pots, a ss food liquidizer and some other bits and bobs.
I have to finish the cooling pipe on the outside. It is copper.brake pipe from a car.
The diameter of the pump.is 4 inches.
It is shown here in a splended animated gif.
I think you would call it a three stage pump?
I am going to use thread mill oil as the oil. (Silicon oil)
The heater will be external, a domestic cooker hotplate.
